“Which is when Joe Biden will take over as US president...” This is direct mis-information you Canadian moose. The States electors haven’t even voted yet, so Biden can’t even claim he is the “president elect” regardless of what the “AP” or Google say. The vote is held on December 14th and then counted January 6th, due to the nature of some of the court cases (one that’s in front of the Supreme Court) this could lead to a contest of electors on the 6th which will keep Biden from reaching the required 270 votes. This can push the election to a House of Representatives vote where each state gets one vote, and they are required to vote on party lines, so Trump would win. This process is 100% legal and constitutional and has happened before. So don’t put the cart before the horse.

If you look at every single smartphone manufacturer ever. They all use the same IP rating for water and dust resistance. Which is tested in the same environment with clean water at room temperature. They all have labels said you should never intentionally drown it as the protection is not guaranteed and they do no take responsibility if you damage it. This is the same across all smartphone manufacturer and I think he puts Apple in the title for more clicks. I appreciate sarcastically put clickbait thumbnail and title but holy shit.

Apple isn’t lying. Water resistant doesn’t guarantee that water can’t enter the phone. Also even if it were water proof to the stated depth and time, you cannot prove that you were within those limits when your phone got water damaged. So obviously Apple wouldn’t take your word for it when assessing if your phone meets the warranty requirements.

Never seen a company who gives warranties on water damage phones, and is water resistance, not water proof, if you go for a swim with your phone, you are kinda stupid... thats is only for some water splashes and rain.

The iPhone’s are much more water resistant than other phones, actually the youtuber “everythingapplepro” did a test and the test was a success. The iPhones even withstood much more pressure and time than advertised. Of course sea water will ruin phones much more easily because of the salt.

Legit my iPhone X fell in the tub and I took it out immediately and I assumed that since they advertised it as water resistant it would be fine and continue running. I had to get a replacement from Apple and thank god my iPhone was still under warranty so the replacement was free.

Not saying my anecdotal experience is evidence of anything, but I forgot my Galaxy S7 in the pocket of my swim suit and went swimming in the ocean for about an hour before I realized. Other than the fact that it wouldn't charge for a couple hours due to water in the port, it worked just fine once I dried it with a towel. It served me well for over a year after that point until it was retired.
