32 core arm chip is still slower if you use the same application as on x86 chips. (box86 stuff that linux is doing).

The Bond Movies HOLY SHIT ... For real: None of the big VoD „players“ has anyone of that movies, not Netflix, not Amazon Prime, not Sky Go. How many freaking subscriptions should i need to watch those. And why they are all too dumb to buy at least one (that‘s right folks, none of the mentioned platforms has anyone of that films) into their portfolio?

The first James Bond film was Dr. No in 1962. The first James Bond book was Casino Royale in 1953, but I don't think that's relevant. The original Casino Royale film was in 1967, but it was done as a parody because Eon was outbid for the movie rights, the producer could not come to terms with Eon for a collaboration, and he didn't think a non-Eon version would be taken seriously by the public. I doubt that this film is covered by the Netflix deal, but I haven't checked. Is Never Say Never Again covered? It is the only other Bond film not made by Eon.

my keyboard keys each have a screen that plays an ad play AFTER I press a key but before the char appears on screen. This comment took 54 minutes to complete. Whenever I flush my toilet, I have to watch an ad first. - After I turn off my bedroom lights for the night, I have to watch 3 ads before I can sleep or the lights go back on.

RISC cores are minuscule at 7nm. Feeding data to high speed RISC cores is the challenge. What is REALLY fascinating about the Apple Chips is the onboard GPU and the AI logic all at internal chip speed. Just amazing. Serious game changer EVEN if there is a benchmark penalty for them. In reality most people under utilize the performance to such an extent that engineer/marketing can decide to make tradeoffs to support horizontals better. (Yes there will always be heavy apps like Microsoft Flight Sim 2020.) These new native features will open massive new markets at zero additional cost. Apple just did developers a HUGE favor. No more bleeding edge $$$ solutions. Now its a software problem. That is just brilliant. These bits will be looked back upon as the hooks that changed the entire game - misunderstood at first; under appreciated and maligned, but major milestones. Much like the first 3D expansion chips from 3DFX etc. (There would be no NVIDIA without 3Dfx.)

I had zero issues in procuring two Nvidia 3900 RTX’s and two Radeon VII Pro’s for my new Threadripper PRO 3995WX based server, in fact, I ordered on a Monday and received the two 3900’s the very next day, however the two Radeon cards came a weak later as they weren’t kept in regular stock. I do live in Switzerland so maybe that has something to do with it. I got the Nvidia cards from digitec.ch if anyone is interested, though I do not know their current inventory. On a side note, what did take an unusual amount of time to receive were the water blocks for the Radeon VII Pro’s, even though they use the same blocks as the normal VII cards. I bought them direct from EKWB as all of my water cooling parts come from them. Well, all except for my Alphacool Eiszeit 2000, which is a fantastic external water cooling solution that deletes the need for a pump, reservoir and radiators. I simply drilled a hole through my office to the garage on the other side , where this beast exists, installed in some fast disconnect plates to either side, as well as to my server and I was off to the races. My server is running Smart OS, a Unix based OS designed for virtual machines, as my entire family is connecting to this server, 4 total people, each person can choose either Windows, Linux, OSX, Steam, Chrome OS, Lakka, android, etc. as well as have a dedicated GPU with 12 dedicated CPU Cores at their disposal. We use a mixture of Samsung Chromebook’s, Tabs S7’s, Note 10’s, Surface Pro 12’s, Steam Link, Nvidia Shield TV, Nvidia Jetson (the new Xavier, which is my current desktop computer, that also has a Nvidia Titan Z which was used in my previous server, inserted into it’s PCIeX slot, yes, it works, as the GPU in the Xavier is also based on Volta), etc. to connect to the server using different RDM apps, Citrix, VMware horizon or just plane ol’e, unaccelerated, X-term. Edit, I just checked the availability on digitec.ch and it seems if you order today, everything will be available after the 24th, no later than the 7th of January, if anyone was interested.

The initial tests of Apple's new M1 ARM processors got me curious about whether a RISC processor could really keep up with x86-64 nowadays. I have no interest in owning an Apple product, so I bought a secondhand Samsung Galaxy Book S for half price on eBay. After updating it to a dev-channel version of Windows 10 that includes x86-64 emulation, updating the Adreno graphics driver, and installing the OpenGL compatibility pack from the Microsoft Store, I set about testing various programs. I was shocked to discover that even the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor, lacking Apple's custom optimizations, is able to run many of my Steam games *_without a dedicated video card, while emulating the x86-64 instruction set at the same time._* This has me questioning whether the entire current electricity- and resource-intensive PC hardware paradigm has been misguided all along.
